Burtons Solicitors Celebrates 200 Years of The Law Society
This year marks a momentous occasion in the history of the legal profession — the bicentenary of The Law Society of England and Wales. For two centuries, The Law Society has played a central role in:
- upholding the rule of law,
- promoting access to justice,
- and supporting solicitors in their work to serve individuals, communities, and businesses across the country.
At Burtons Solicitors, we are proud to be part of this legacy. As a firm rooted in tradition yet committed to innovation and community engagement, we are joining in the celebrations to honour 200 years of legal excellence and service.
Giving Back: 200 Minutes for 200 Years
In recognition of this milestone, each of our offices will be contributing 200 minutes of charity work throughout 2025. Whether it’s through:
- volunteering,
- pro bono advice,
- community outreach,
- or fundraising initiatives.
Our teams will be dedicating their time to causes that matter — reflecting the spirit of service and justice that The Law Society has championed for generations.
Why This Anniversary Matters
The Law Society’s 200th anniversary is more than just a celebration of history. It is a moment to reflect on the vital role solicitors play in society, the progress made over two centuries, and the continued responsibility we have to uphold ethical standards, support vulnerable people, and maintain public confidence in the legal system.
At Burtons, we are deeply proud to support this vision and continue the work of delivering accessible, high-quality legal services to our clients and communities.
In early June some of our Pembury team gave some hours in a local charity shop.
