Whether you are an employer or an employee, the chances are that at some point in time you will have a question, or issue in connection with somebody you employ, or your employer.

We can offer advice on most aspects of employment law including:

  • Contracts of employment
  • Staff handbook
  • Policies and procedures
  • Restructuring and reorganisation
  • TUPE
  • Redundancies
  • Managing dismissals
  • Disciplinary and Grievance
  • Breach of Contract
  • Unfair Dismissal
  • Discrimination
  • Post Termination Restrictions
  • Tribunal and Court claims

Experience tells us that if an employer or an employee is facing an issue, or a challenging situation, it is usually more cost-effective to seek advice at an early stage, otherwise once the situation worsens it is more often than not difficult to resolve the problem without resorting to other measures including ACAS, mediation, or proceedings.

An estimate of our costs for commencing or defending a claim is as follows:

Claim Type Estimated Cost
Standard claim with no or little complexity £5,000 – £7,500
Intermediate claim with some complexity £10,000 – £15,000
Complex claim £20,000+

There will be an additional charge for attending a Court or Tribunal Hearing of £2500 per day (plus VAT @ 20%). Generally, we would allow 1-3 days depending on the complexity of your case.

Our hourly rates are as follows:

Role Fee Range
Partners £245 plus VAT (£294) to £350 plus VAT (£420)
Solicitors / Legal Executives £200 plus VAT (£240) to £275 plus VAT (£330)
Trainees & Paralegals £120 plus VAT (£144) to £200 plus VAT (£240)

In addition, there may be disbursements such as counsel’s [barrister] fees for advising and representation, and/or expert’s fees.
